Main Stage productions:

Steel Magnolias -- Spring 2009  -- The beloved story of six strong Southern women who face anything life gives them with a smile, a joke, and an unbendable spirit

The Producers -- Summer 2009 -- The musical about a musical! --Max Bialystock  was once one of Broadway's most successful producers, but a string of flops has thrown his career into a tailspin, and now he struggles to raise the cash to stage new shows by playing gigolo to lonely old ladies. While going over his books, accountant Leo Bloom  notices that Bialystock raised more money than he spent for one show, and points out that if one raised enough money for a show that closed in one night, you could make more off a flop than a hit. This strikes Bialystock as a brilliant scheme, and he decides to give it a try, persuading Bloom to join him in staging the world's greatest flop.  Together they produce a show "so bad it's good" and end up with an unwanted hit on their hands.  Just off Broadway and coming to Jasper!

Smoke on the Mountain -- This much-loved show is a musical comedy about a family of gospel singers in economically depressed 1938 The minister of a local church invites the Sanders Family Singers to provide an "upliftin' evening of singin' " for his very staid flock. What he and the church get is a surprising evening of wonderful and rousing music and more than two dozen songs, many of them vintage Gospel and bluegrass favorites, mixed in with hilarious stories from the more -- or less -- devout members of the Sanders family.  This show is a musical delight for all members of the family.
