Why support Tater Patch Players?

No theater or arts group in the country can pay for its productions by ticket sales alone.  Naturally, your ticket purchases help us entertain you. We are proud our casts, crews and front of house staff are all volunteers. Though we generally finance most show expenses from ticket revenues, covering operating costs requires more than talent and loyal audiences.  To bridge this gap, we need donors, advertisers, and sponsors.  We need you!  Donations are gratefully accepted to help support the Tater Patch Players theater. Your support is both welcome, and vital, to keeping your community theater operational. We are a 501(c)3 organization and, as such, all monetary donations are deductible to the extent allowed by law.  (Consult your tax professional for details.)

There are many ways you can donate to Tater Patch, including our Rewards Program which offers various giving level options. Details on the Rewards Program, as well as other ways to support the theater, are provided below.  Donations of any size or kind are welcome.

To donate by check, please make your check payable to Tater Patch Players and mail to:
Tater Patch Players, PO Box 267, Jasper, GA. 30143.
Donations can also be made by credit card at our box office during productions or by contacting the theater by phone.  If you wish to visit with one of our representatives about your donation, call (706-253-2800) or contact us by email (taterpatchplayers@gmail.com).  We will arrange a meeting at your convenience.

Keep in mind, since our staff is all volunteer, there may not be anyone available to take your call; please leave us a message. In your email or voicemail, make sure to let us know the best way to get in touch with you.

Other ways to support the theater

Donate to the ‘Cushy Tushy’ Theater Fund: If you have been to the theater recently, you might have noticed a small silver plaque on the armrest of some of the seats. These are a result of donations made to help Tater Patch defray the cost of the seats which were purchased just as the pandemic hit in 2020. If you donated in the past for this purpose and wish to see where your plaque is located, email us at taterpatchplayers@gmail.com. Put “Cushy Tushy” in the subject line and provide us your name/contact information. If you’d like to donate and have a seat dedicated to your name or in the name of someone you wish to honor or do in memory of, you can make a donation of $250 per seat. Donations can be made by check or at the concession register by credit card. A form needs to be completed for your donation.  Forms are available in the theater lobby or can be downloaded from here.

Advertisers & Sponsors: Perhaps you’re interested in becoming a playbill advertiser or in sponsoring an individual production; just let us know via a phone call or email. We’ll get in touch with you to provide any necessary help and information.

Volunteers: As an all-volunteer organization, we would be thrilled to have you donate your time and excited to have you join us!  There is always a need for more volunteers — from choreographers to painters, from writers to office work — we welcome everyone!  Contact us to learn more.

Donate Items – Wish List:  It takes a family of people to build live theater sets BUT it also takes a myriad of tools.  Tater Patch Players wants to thank those who have fulfilled our wish list; we currently have the necessary tools.  However, new items are always wonderful; if you’d like to make ‘in kind’ donations, please check with us to find out what we need.

We are an all-volunteer group; directors and actors, publicity writers and playbill creators, office administrators to ushers, and set designers to floor-sweepers.  We all come out and “play” because we enjoy our fellow volunteers and love being a part of live theater.  Volunteers have a myriad of opportunities to engage in at the theater and share in the rewards of bringing the best of entertainment to our community.  Any of our volunteers can tell you what fun they have.  It’s a satisfying feeling to contribute to the choosing, promoting, designing, and creating of a theater production.

Our primary volunteer ‘work’ day is each Monday from 10AM to 2PM (lunch is provided). Come by and meet our crew. We’ll give you a tour and let you learn about volunteer opportunities that fit your style! Volunteers are also needed during each show’s production run to help with ‘Front of House’ (FoH). FoH volunteers run concession operations, serve snacks/drinks to our patrons, as well as serve as ushers and handle tickets sales in our Box Office. So, if you can’t come on Monday, think about helping with FoH!

If you’d like more information about becoming a Tater Patch Player (TPP) volunteer, please contact us. Keep in mind, since our staff is all volunteer, there may not be anyone available to take your call; just leave us a message.  In your email or voicemail, please make sure to let us know the best way to get in touch with you.
